I grew up in Bryan, Ohio, a close-knit community in Northwest Ohio. During high school, I actively participated in football, track and choir. I also served on the Student Council, culminating in my election as Student Council President in my senior year.
I've been surrounded by teachers my whole life. My mom taught for 42 years. My grandmother was the high school secretary. I have 7 cousins and 5 aunts and uncles who are or were teachers or support staff. And my daughter is currently a special education teacher. I understand the importance of teachers and the committment and sacrafice they give to their profession.
Academically, I graduated from Miami University with degrees in marketing and personnel management. After college, I relocated to Hilliard and embarked on a sales career in telecommunications. Currently, I work for AT&T as a Client Success Manager, where I am part of a sales team supporting a portfolio of international business accounts.
For over 36 years, Hilliard has been my home. Together with my wife, we raised our two children in Hilliard and both kids graduated from Hilliard Davidson High School. My love of this community sparked my journey into community service to enhance the environment for our family and neighbors. Here are some of my contributions:
Hilliard Education Foundation: I dedicated eight years to the board, holding positions as president, vice president, grants chair, and fundraising chair. In 2020, I was awarded the Foundation Star, recognizing my exemplary service, dedication, and commitment to advancing the foundation's mission and supporting our school system.
Rotary Club of Hilliard: I have proudly been a member for more than 22 years, serving in various capacities including president, vice president, board member, club grants chair, and events chair. I was honored with the Rotarian of the Year award in both 2003 and 2009.
Additional Volunteering: My volunteer efforts extend to the Hilliard Food Pantry, Hilliard City Schools, First Community Church, and the Hilliard Ohio Soccer Association.
I embarked on a creative venture over a decade ago by starting a small craft business. This endeavor of making etched drinking glasses allows me to engage with the community at local craft shows and supports a local business, MAK Home Furnishings in Old Hilliard, where my glasses are sold.
In my leisure time, I enjoy spending time with friends around Hilliard. We particularly enjoy visiting Hilliard’s Station Park, Center Street Market, and The Moose.
This journey of service and community involvement has been incredibly fulfilling, and I look forward to continuing to contribute to the vibrant community of Hilliard as a member of the Hilliard School Board.
